I have to say that I found the music to incredibly moving and gorgeous. Very
interesting without being emotionally removed. It was my favorite part of the
show. It really depends on your personal taste. As a professional musician on
Broadway, I can tell you that the music is not at all "young" and that my
fellow musicians and I agreed (at least everyone I've spoken with) that we'd
much rather play a show like Parade then something as musically simplistic and
boring as a Phantom or Les Mis.
